Good Newsreader Software
I would appreciate some info. on good newsreader software. The program I am using, News Xpress, is great, but it getting old and crashes a lot on my new computer. So, what are you regulars using out there? Thanks and Drink Up, SS '93 Fatboy Try Microplanet's Gravity. I've been using it for about 3 years.

Good Newsreader Software
Google groups web-based newsreader is a lot better. Hmm. In the limited sense that it enables you to keep track of your own threads better than OE, I suppose this is true, but Google doen't have 90% of the features you'd find in a good newsreader, such as Dialog or XNews or a few others. But still has shortcomings.

Looking for a good newsreader for Newgroups
I received my Blackwater 100 in good condition from the seller in Iowa, it came via Overnite (who, in spite of their name, took 5 days or so to get it here, heh!). Inaccuracies, WSJ story today (July 8)

It clogs up my news reader, and I just have to delete them... also, no MP3's, please! Maybe this is the time to remind folks that with good newsreader software you can filter out such things, and so be spared the annoyance. For example, I use a combination of Hamster and XNews: I filter large non- binary files

All of these deal either specifically with newsreaders or are groups where newsreaders are discussed, so the GNKSA (which is about newsreader software) is relevant to all of them (although the /best/ place for general discussion of newsreaders is news.software.readers, which is what the followup-to is set to).

OT: e-mail & newsreader software?
As far as software goes you can get by with Outlook Express and Explorer for now. But I think its smart if you can get a good newsreader software because it saves assembling the files in here. I am using a free one I got on a good recommendation from an earlier post dated last weekend. It is called powerpost.
